Taco Seasoned Grilled Steak
When it’s time to grill … try these taco seasoned grilled steaks. You’ll love the extra kick the taco seasoning gives them, and you’re family will too!
Very little prep time is needed to make these delicious steaks, but the neighbors will think you worked hard when they taste how awesome their dinner is.
I used my homemade taco seasoning as a rub on these steaks and they grilled up nearly perfect. You could use any taco seasoning you want, but I like knowing exactly what ingredients are in my taco spice.
Variations:
This same recipe can be used with pork chops, chicken breasts or even hamburgers.
Make It a Meal:
Serve these taco seasoned grilled steaks as we did, with broccoli and red beans & rice. You can also serve other Tex-Mex style dishes: Pineapple Salsa, Nacho cheese dip, nacho corn salad, nacho grande boats, seven layer dip and cilantro dip.
How long does it take to grill steaks?
People are all the time asking how long it takes to grill steaks. The answer to that depends on how rare or well-done you like your steak.
My brother likes his steaks quite rare, while my mom likes hers really well-done. My husband and I fall in the middle … probably more like a medium-well version.
You’ll want to cook a steak that’s just under an inch thick for 2-3 minutes each side for rare, 4 minutes each side for medium, and 5-6 minutes each side for well-done.
Turn the steak only once, otherwise it will dry out. Always use tongs to handle steak as they won’t pierce the meat, allowing the juices to escape.
