Death by Chocolate Mason Jar Cookies
Death by chocolate, if I could think of a better way to go, I can’t imagine what that might be. These cookies are delicious!
A double dose of chocolate in a bite sized cookie, all wrapped up in a Mason jar for gift giving. This recipe is simple and to die for.
Puns not exactly your sense of humor? No worries. You don’t have to be funny when you have these cookies. People will love you for the chocolate!
All kidding aside, these death by chocolate Mason jar cookies make great gifts. Teacher gift? Mom Squad gift? Neighborhood cookie exchange? Check, check, check.
I’ve made a gift basket with this death by chocolate cookie mix, some wooden spoons, a coffee mug and a bag of gourmet coffee. Talk about a hit!
These jar mixes have some shelf life, also, so I keep a couple on hand during the holidays, for when I need that last minute gift. You know how those occasions sneak up on you, right! No more!
As you add the Death by Chocolate ingredients to the jar, you’ll want to wipe the dust from the sides of the jar between additions. You can see, I didn’t do that. The cocoa powder left a dusting on the sides of the jar and the white layer on top looks a bit muddy.
After you have the jar filled, decorate it. Attach a pretty ribbon, some lace or a cover with a square of fabric. Tie a tag with baking instructions so gift receivers know how to bake their Death by Chocolate cookies.
Variations:
If you think these are too much chocolate, (is that possible!?) you could replace the semisweet chips with white chocolate chips or even mint flavored candies.
Make It a Meal:
These are cookies. You could make a meal out of them alone. Just don’t tell the kiddos!
Some of the other Mason Jar Recipes I’ve made include: Bean Soup, Brownies, and Chocolate Chip.
