Crockpot Ham Supper
Need an easy way to prepare ham? This crockpot ham supper is super simple. Four Ingredients. One Crockpot. A few hours to go enjoy your life.

Dinner is ready when you come back. It doesn’t get much simpler than that … unless the prep instructions are like the ones in this recipe.
Variations:
If you’re not a fan of sweet potatoes, like my husband, you can substitute white potatoes in this recipe. While I love red potatoes, they’ll cook too fast though, and be mushy. You’ll want to use a good baking potato like russet.
Another good addition to the slow cooker is broccoli. Add fresh cut broccoli one hour before serving. This allows enough time for the broccoli to cook but not over cook.
If you don’t like the sweetness of maple syrup (which means you’re not a member of my family), or if you’re really watching your calories, you can substitute an equal portion of broth. I like to use molasses if I don’t have maple syrup…because … sweetness, you know.
Make It a Meal:
This crockpot ham supper is all you really need to serve. However, if you want some extra goodness, add a fresh green salad, some green peas and some bread.

I like to serve the classic pea salad, grandma’s green bean casserole and cornbread to make this a complete country supper.

This sounds like an interesting recipe. We don’t eat ham so please tell me what vegetarian protein can I substitute for Ham. I would love to give this dinner a try in my kitchen.
Gunjan, thanks for the compliment! Since I’m not a vegetarian, I’m not well educated on the variety of protein options on the market. If I were going to exchange the ham for a non meat protein, I would use butter beans and black beans for texture and color.
what a great easy way to cook ham! i love making dinner in the crockpot. and ham is one of those foods that is great used in leftovers
Crockpots qualify as a life hack, in my book!
Can I make ham, potatoes, carrots in crock pot with something different then maple syrup
Dawn,
You sure can!
Some suggestions:
Sweet and sour sauce
Honey Barbecue
Italian Salad dressing
Cheese sauce
Chicken broth
Vegetable broth
It really depends on the flavor you’re looking for, sweet or savory. I’ve even used a dry spice blend and a little bit of water.
I totally understand your husband. I never used to be a fan of sweet potatoes, but now I can’t get enough of them! This looks so good
I think it’s interesting how our tastes change over time. There are some things I loved when I was a girl, but don’t really care for now … I keep hoping the same will happen with my husband and sweet potatoes … until then, there’s more for me!
If I wanted to add cabbage, would that go in the beginning or towards the end of cooking time?
I add cabbage to mine right at the beginning just draped over the top.
