Crockpot Ham Supper
Need an easy way to prepare ham? This crockpot ham supper is super simple. Four Ingredients. One Crockpot. A few hours to go enjoy your life.
Dinner is ready when you come back. It doesn’t get much simpler than that … unless the prep instructions are like the ones in this recipe.
Variations:
If you’re not a fan of sweet potatoes, like my husband, you can substitute white potatoes in this recipe. While I love red potatoes, they’ll cook too fast though, and be mushy. You’ll want to use a good baking potato like russet.
Another good addition to the slow cooker is broccoli. Add fresh cut broccoli one hour before serving. This allows enough time for the broccoli to cook but not over cook.
If you don’t like the sweetness of maple syrup (which means you’re not a member of my family), or if you’re really watching your calories, you can substitute an equal portion of broth. I like to use molasses if I don’t have maple syrup…because … sweetness, you know.
Make It a Meal:
This crockpot ham supper is all you really need to serve. However, if you want some extra goodness, add a fresh green salad, some green peas and some bread.
I like to serve the classic pea salad, grandma’s green bean casserole and cornbread to make this a complete country supper.
