Cowboy Beans ~ Recipe
Beans are a great favorite at family potlucks. This recipe takes regular baked beans to the next level!
Using a crock pot or slow cooker makes this long cook time easy to manage – just place all ingredients in the pot at breakfast, and you’re ready to eat at lunch or dinner!
Cowboy Beans Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cans Pork and Beans
1 can Great Northern Beans drained
1 can Pinto Beans drained
1 can Kidney Beans drained
1 can White Beans drained
1 cup ketchup
1 cup Brown Sugar
1 pound Hamburger ground
1 large Onion diced
Recipe Directions:
Brown hamburger and onions in skillet.
Place all ingredients in crock pot and simmer on low.
Beans are usually ready to eat in 4 – 6 hours.
This is about as easy as it gets for side dishes!

Make It a Meal:
Serve along side hamburgers and a small salad.
Variations:
Replace bean combination with any beans of your preference. For example, if butter beans are too big for your gang, use Navy or Lima beans instead. Add a couple strips of bacon, fried and crumbled.
I think the combination of beans looks awfully pretty when you place them in the crock pot. I’m probably a little odd that way, thinking beans are pretty. At least, that’s what my family tells me!
But if you look at that picture, you have to agree there is a whole lot of color and texture going on!
