Coffee Glazed Nuts
If you’re planning a party and need a light appetizer, these coffee glazed nuts are just what the doctor ordered. The sweet and bitter coffee flavor adds a nice touch to the hearty nuts.
If you serve them in a fancy bowl, your guests will think you went all out for extravagant snacks. Truth be told, this recipe is so simple, you can put it together in under five minutes.
If you can brew coffee, you can make these nuts. And who doesn’t have a coffee maker on hand? If you don’t – just pick up some instant coffee and make it double strength.
If you don’t have a coffee maker … then you probably don’t drink much coffee (I don’t know how you survive!) but you need some reason to use up that whole jar of instant coffee!
My entire family drinks coffee and tea. We start drinking tea with cream and sugar in grade school and work our way up to rich, black, wonderful expresso by the time we graduate from college.
I can’t imagine a house not having a coffee maker (or even a Kurig) but I hear that such places exist.
I have nearly a dozen coffee makers in my house. That’s another story, however, so I’ll save it for another time. Meanwhile, just trust me when I say, we are coffee people.
These coffee coated nuts are easy to eat. Let me tell you, I sat down with a bowl of them and before I knew it, I’d munched my way through way more than I intended.
I kept a container of them on the kitchen counter and discovered that my husband and I would snag a handful every time we walked through the kitchen.
I’m pretty sure we could eat a truckload of these coffee glazed nuts!
Make It a Meal:
Appetizer that this recipe is, I’d say you probably don’t want to eat the coffee glazed nuts for a meal. However, if you’re hosting card night, these are great on the snack table with other appetizers: Queso Dip, Pineapple Salsa, Mild Crab Dip, Cheesy Olive Dip, and Pimiento Cheese Spread.

Storage:
Keep these coffee glazed nuts in an airtight container. I used a plastic tub since we were just snacking on them at home. If you want to give them as a gift, package them in a pretty jar and add a ribbon.
Variations:
You can use your favorite mix of nuts as long as you keep the total measurement the same. I like this mix because there is a variety of nuts which toasts up to different levels of crispy.
It’s also more economical due to the combination. My favorite nuts are pecans and cashews, but that would make for a more expensive snack.
If you don’t have corn syrup or can’t use it for dietary reasons, you can swap that ingredient with maple syrup. I highly recommend real syrup!

My husband loves nuts and coffee so I know he’d really enjoy these. I love how easy they are to make.
He’s going to love this! We had a tough time stopping eating … handful after handful … LOL
I can totally see how these would be addicting and these are so unique I think you should be selling them not giving this recipe away so thank you so much! WOW
Oh Claudia, you make me blush! I have considered offering these at bake sales – so your feedback is helpful.
Well, I am a coffee fanatic. I have never had coffee nuts….so this sounds interesting and delicious. What a great food gift this would make.
I was thinking about giving jars of these nuts for Christmas … wouldn’t they be pretty with a bow and a single pot bag of coffee?
I have never come across coffee flavoured nuts before, what a fabulously original idea. I am one of those people that doesn’t drink coffee but I would use these nuts, chopped as decor to a cream gateaux etc
Camilla, you’re a much stronger willed person than I. I’m not sure I’d be able to leave enough of these to use as a garnish or decor!
I’ve never heard of this before, but it sounds very interesting. I’m a coffee lover and I think I would love to give this a try.
No really special ingredients required … I mean, the nuts were something I had to purchase. But the rest of the ingredients were on my shelf!
I love the combination of nuts and coffee though I am not a coffee drinker. I only have coffee in my desserts and ice drinks. This sounds so refreshing and light. Perfect mid-day snack or light desserts after a meal.
Definitely this is a good snack .. tough to stop eating at one “serving”.
I always go for these every time I see them at a party. I really should make my own, but haven’t tried yet!
Isn’t that the way, tho? I have some foods that I can’t wait to eat at potlucks or when we go out to dinner, but never, ever make them at home!
I haven’t seen coffee nuts before but we are huge nut lovers. I don’t think these munchies would last very long on the counter. I think I’d have to hide them so we wouldn’t be making piggies out of ourselves. The nuts would also be a great gift.
LOL @ hiding them! I tried that. It didn’t work in my house. I hope you have better luck!
Wow, I have never seen this before, but this sounds genius! I would love to snack on these while I am pulling all nighters
Certainly this would be a healthier snack for an all nighter than what I used to eat when I was in college! (Twinkies and Cheetos, anyone?!)
Wow this is amazing, I have never heard of coffee nuts before. This would make a great gift for coffee lovers.
Start stocking up on pretty jars – all the coffee lovers in your family will want these!
Another way to get my caffeine fix ;D I love it! This mix sounds so good…I’m definitely making this <3
I’m sure you’ll love it, but stop back and let me know how it turns out for you!
You had me at coffee….then you added cinnamon. Oh be still my heart!!!! I NEED these in my life!
I need a coffee to start my day, this coffee glazed nuts are calling my name. I can munch everyday. I need to a make a big batch.
Swathi, better double the double batch then! LOL
Oooof! You just made my whole day with this recipe!! We are coffee-addicts and now I can add coffee to make a salty, coffee snack??? Super easy to make and great creative idea!!
You know you want these! And the best part … the non coffee drinkers won’t judge you for eating these nuts! They’ll have no idea there’s coffee in there!
I love coffee flavored foods and oh boy do I love snacking. This sounds super delicious to me. I have to make this for my next movie night.
These are a perfect movie night snack! I’ll have to do that … I’m always drifting off to sleep when the movie gets started.
These would go wonderfully with our cheese boards we do when entertaining, in fact I would make extra to send home with guests as a takeaway! Thanks so much for sharing.
What a good idea, Melissa! Please invite me! Your guests will love having these to take home with them.
There are things about this recipe that are wrong. I wish I knew more exactly what they are.
Firstly, the time in the oven is way too long. Walnuts were burned. Other nuts crisped the brown through and through. I looked afterwards at similar recipes and time was much shorter. Oven temp also a bit high. I am thinking 300 instead of 350, for the pecans especially.
The glaze does not adhere. So it sticks to the nuts in clumps but not a lot. So the nuts are simply not glazed.
Some other recipes call for an egg white. This likely would help the glaze cover the nuts.
This recipe is expensive to try and find lacking.
Gail,
I’m sorry this recipe didn’t work out as you hoped. Oven temperatures do vary and cooking times are affected by altitude and heat source. Please let me know if the egg white trick helps you.
All the Best,
Noel
