Chocolate Chips Mania Mason Jar Cookies
What is your favorite cookie? Mine is chocolate chips mania! This cookie will charm the hearts of the entire family, it’s bursting with chocolate chips!
The other part of this recipe that’s so awesome, is that you prepare the mix in a Mason jar and it becomes a gift that’s worth both giving and receiving!
With the dry ingredients layered into a one quart canning jar, and instructions on how to mix and bake, the chocolate chips mania cookie will become your family’s favorite treat.
I’m thinking I’ll make some of these chocolate chips mania cookie jars for Christmas gifts this year. I mean, who doesn’t love chocolate chip cookies?
And as far as gifts go, these are certainly pretty enough! Look at those lovely layers!
One of the tricks I learned while putting together this Mason jar cookie mix, is to make sure you have the tools to make the job easier!
In addition to some bowls and measuring cups & spoons, you’ll want your cookie sheet, the one quart wide mouth canning jar, the lid, a funnel and a wooden skewer.
You may also want a way to tamp down the dry ingredients into their respective layers. A narrow jar that fits inside the mouth of your quart jar would work well for this.
To help settle the ingredients, I just thumped the jar with ingredients on the table a couple of times .
I used a wooden barbecue skewer to poke out any air bubbles and to help me smooth the flour and sugar.
The goal is pretty and even layers.
Decorate the jar:
Once you have all the layers in place, secure the lid tightly and add a pretty ribbon.
The ribbon I used was about a half inch wide and satiny. You could use any type of ribbon you have on hand. Also, you can tie some twine, raffia or a strip of fabric around the top of the jar.
Cut the ends of fabric ribbon on an angle to keep it from fraying. If you use material strips, cut with pinking shears (the ones with the zig-zag teeth) for the same reason.
I love this peachy pink color combined with the ivory and golden chevrons!
Placing your Mason jar on the cookie sheet and using the funnel when you add ingredients, will make clean up of any spills so much easier!
Make It a Meal:
When you don’t have kids around, just make a meal of these delicious cookies! Pour a glass of milk or a cup of coffee and have at it!
