BBQ Roast Pork
Oh Boy did cold weather come to our part of the country this week! Cold weather makes me want to warm up the house with lots of cooking and baking. On days when I have to work, it is tough to spend all day cooking – the boss does not approve of that, ya know!
But I can achieve similar results by using my slow cooker. And this time of year, it gets a work out! There is nothing like coming in from the cold after a long day and smelling delicious aromas of supper cooking even when nobody has been home all day!

Make it a Meal:
Add some biscuits and a salad, you are all set. Shred the pork and make sandwiches.
Variations:
Any roast will work: beef, venison or pork. If you do not have a roast, you can substitute chops or other cuts of pork. Pineapple chunks are a sweet addition to the crock pot. I usually saute some green peppers in a skillet and serve them with the pineapple BBQ pork.
This barbecue roast pork is especially aromatic! Some herb biscuits are quick to mix up and make a great accompaniment to the pork.
My husband is a big fan of the onions in this dish, so I usually use three onions that way he has plenty to top his sandwich with. If your family is not such a big onion fan, then you can use a small onion and dice it into tiny bits. The flavor added is worth the effort, and they will not be able to see those tiny bits!
You can vary the flavor of this dish by using different commercial barbecue sauces. Honey, brown sugar, smoky, maple, bacon, you name it they make it!
