Super Simple Sugar Cookies
These super simple sugar cookies should be on your Christmas cookie tray this year. They should be a weekly menu item, for that matter! They are easy enough to make, you’ll make up a batch every Wednesday night.
The trick is using a packaged sugar cookie dough. Of course, if you have a great homemade sugar cookie dough, you can use that also!
I’ve used the packaged cookie dough from the store in the past, but usually just cut and bake. It occurred to me that I can be a bit more creative with the dough.
Talk about one of those moments when you think “Duh!” I’ve got several sugar cookie dough recipes floating around the house.
The trouble I have is spending the time mixing up the cookie dough. I know it only takes a few minutes, but … life happens.
I bought a package of refrigerated sugar cookie dough and used it to make these super simple sugar cookies. I like the way the cookie dough was easy to measure into equal portions.
I cut the log of dough in half lengthwise and then half again, to make quarters. Then each quarter I cut into one inch pieces. All my cookies baked evenly because they were the exact same size!
Make It a Meal:
Make up a cookie tray and include these additional cookies: Seven Layer Bars, Buckeye Thumbprint, Chocolate Chip, Lemon White Chocolate Chip.

Of course, you can make these cookies for any occasion by changing out the colored sugars to fit the season or theme of the party.
These cookies didn’t escape the attention of our Australian Shepherd, Cheyenne. Even blind and deaf, she knew where I had placed the cookies for photos. There’s no doubt her nose works!

Ingredients
- 30 oz Refrigerated Sugar Cookie Dough
- 6 oz Red Sugar Sprinkles
- 6 oz Green Sugar Sprinkles
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Slice cookie dough log in half lengthwise. Then slice each half in half again. (making triangular quarters.)

Slice the quarters in one inch pieces. Roll pieces between hands to form balls.

Roll half the balls in red colored sugar sprinkles. Roll the other half in green colored sugar sprinkles.

Place balls on parchment paper lined cookie sheet, leaving two inches between cookies.

Bake at 350 according to package directions. (between 8-14 minutes).

Cookies will turn golden at the edges. Remove from cookie sheet to cool.
