One Pot Italian Pasta Recipe
Busy weeknights call for easy supper recipes. This one pot Italian pasta dish is exactly the ticket to getting the family fed.
A no fuss dish, that only uses on pot for preparation? Truly such a thing exists!
I found a new recipe online the other day. It was one of those recipes that promise, one pan, no work, great taste.
Usually I am a bit skeptical of those recipes, since I have found they require more than one pan, a fair amount of effort or they taste bland.
I felt I had to test this one. So I made sure all the ingredients were either in my cupboard or on my grocery list and I made a pot of this pasta over the weekend.
Wow! This recipe is for real.
I really only used one single pot. Although I did use a cutting board and knife to slice the onion, that is not very many additional dishes to wash.
The flavor? Well, I thought it was a tasty dish and my husband had a second serving. You know it is good when he goes back for a second helping!
One of the great things about this dish is that you can use any long pasta. I’ve used fettuccine, linguine, spaghetti, thin spaghetti … well, you get the idea.
The noodles stuck to the bottom of my pan a bit, so I think the next time I make this dish, I will put them in last and make certain I stir a bit more often.
This is a nice alternative to my regular spaghetti with tomato sauce. It is going into the menu rotation so we will have it regularly!
Make it a meal:
Add a small salad and some bread for a meal that tastes like Italy!
Some of my favorite options are: Olive Onion Bread, Bruschetta, Parmesan Pull Apart and Pepperoni Bites.

Variations:
Add meatballs of chunks of chicken for protein. Sliced olives would add a nice Italian touch. Cannonelli beans would also be a Mediterranean accent.
I sliced up a sausage link and added to the mix this time.
The dried herbs I used for this dish really pack flavor. Red pepper flakes especially will cure what ails you! The light green oregano and dark green basil really give the pasta that Italian flavor.
